Director Shinji Takamatsu confirmed on Friday that the 13th and final episode of the Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto television anime will not air as planned. The staff had planned this adaptation of Nami Sano's manga as a 13-episode series. However, special news coverage of the Kumamoto earthquakes delayed the anime's second episode in April. As a result, every subsequent episode was delayed by one week.

Takamatsu added that the staff had crafted the 13th episode specifically for the medium of television, so he described its removal from the broadcast schedule as "truly disappointing." The anime's official website lists the 13th episode in the anime's fifth and final Blu-ray Disc/DVD volume, which will ship on October 26.

The series premiered on the TBS channel in Japan on April 8. Sentai Filmworks licensed series for North America, and Crunchyroll is streaming the anime as airs in Japan.

    Sentai Filmworks describes the story:
Just who is Sakamoto? He's enigmatic. He's clever. He's dashing. No challenge is too great and no cause is too small for Sakamoto. Girls love him, guys hate him for it, and despite efforts to humiliate him, Sakamoto is flawlessly able to emerge from the fray, even cooler than ever. Who knows what Sakamoto is going to do next? Whatever it is, it will be fabulous!

Shinji Takamatsu (Gintama, Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE!, School Rumble) is directing the anime at Studio DEEN. Atsuko Nakajima (You're Under Arrest, Ranma ½, Hakuōki) is designing the characters for animation. Yasuhiko Fukuda (Kocchi Muite Miko, Doamaiger D, Kurayami Santa) is composing the music. Masatoshi Muto (Tokyo Ghoul, Riddle Story of Devil) will serve as art director.

Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto is Sano's debut series. Sano launched the series in Kadokawa's harta manga magazine in 2011, and ended the series in December. Seven Seas Entertainment is publishing the manga in North America, and the company released the third volume on March 8.

The manga won the best "male-oriented" comics volume award from Da Vinci magazine and the Comic Natalie Grand Prize in 2013.
