Do you remember Dream Hunter Rem? Fight! Iczer-One? How about Dangaioh? Fans of the obscure and action-packed original video animation from the 1980s will want to get their hands on Original Video Animation (OVA) 80's: Tape ga Head ni Karamu Mae ni, a new book set to hit store shelves in Japan next month.

The book details more than 250 OVA titles released between 1983 and 1989 and includes interviews from their creators. Animator Masami Obari, Silent Möbius creator Kia Asamiya, and even current popular voice actress Sumire Uesaka all offer their recollections of these one of a kind works.

Besides recounting popular OVAs of the time, the book also includes sections dedicated to anime for children, 1980s anime babes, and OVAs dedicated to religious topics.

If you can't get enough of classic anime, several properties are being revisited for modern audiences including this season's DEVILMAN crybaby on Netflix and the upcoming Cutie Honey Universe anime.
