Dragon Ball Super Manga Ranks #4 On U.s. Monthly Bookscan December List

My Hero Academia, Tokyo Ghoul:re also rank in top 20

The second volume of Toyotarō and Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball Super manga ranked at #4 on NPD BookScan's Top 20 list for December.

The manga's first volume previously ranked #2 on the BookScan list in May.

This month's list featured five manga volumes including:

• #8 — Kōhei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia volume 1
• #13 — Sui Ishida's Tokyo Ghoul:re volume 2
• #18 — Sui Ishida's Tokyo Ghoul:re volume 1
• #20 — Kōhei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia volume 10

The BookScan rankings represent sales at Barnes & Noble and other book chains, independent bookshops, and online purchases — but not sales at comic book stores, Amazon, Walmart.com, and some other venues.


NPD BookScan announced in September it plans to add in sales numbers from comic book stores in partnership with Diamond Comics and indie retailers in the coming year, but hasn't yet revealed a specific date the change will take place.
