Disney XD TV Channel Lists 1st Yo-kai Watch Film on November 12-14

    The Disney XD channel is listig Yo-Kai Watch: The Movie, the first Yo-kai Watch anime film, with television airings on November 12-14.

    Eleven Arts and Fathom Events held a one-day screening in the United States on October 15.

    Eleven Arts describes the film:
    In YO-KAI WATCH: THE MOVIE EVENT, Jibanyan, Whisper, and Nate meet a heroic Yo-kai named Hovernyan, and must travel back in time to team up with Nate's adolescent grandfather to stop an evil Yo-kai from taking over the world! Can they discover the secret origin of the Yo-kai Watch and save humanity before time runs out!?
    The film featured the voice cast from the Yo-kai Watch television anime's Disney XD English dub. The film also introduces Hovernyan, a floating blue cat who is the companion of Nate's grandfather Nathaniel.

    The film premiered in Japan in December 2014. The film was the top grossing domestic film in Japan in 2015, and earned 7.8 billion yen (about US$65 million). It ranked #1 in the Japanese box office in its opening weekend by selling 1,484,916 tickets for 1,628,893,000 yen (about US$13.53 million). The film retained its #1 ranking for two weeks after opening, and stayed in the top 10 for 11 weeks. The film also topped the 2015 animation DVD sales.

    The Yo-kai Watch television anime premiered on Disney XD in November 2015, and the second season premiered on August 1.​
