Discotek Adds Demon Lord Dante, Jungle Emperor Leo, Black Jack Film, Star Fleet, True Tears

    North American home video distributor Discotek Media announced during its panel at the AnimeNEXT convention on Sunday that it has licensed the Demon Lord Dante television anime, the Jungle Emperor Leo anime film, the Black Jack The Movie anime film, the Star Fleet(Super Space Machine X Bomber) puppet show, and the True Tears television anime. The company also announced it will release the Golgo 13: The Professional anime film on Blu-ray Disc.

    The 12-episode Demon Lord Dante anime premiered in 2002, based on Go Nagai's original manga of the same name. Discotek will offer the anime on DVD without edits in August. Geneon Entertainment previously released the series on DVD in 2004.

    The Jungle Emperor Leo anime film debuted in 1997, based on Osamu Tezuka's Jungle Taitei manga, also known in the United States as Kimba the White Lion. Discotek will offer the anime on a DVD/Blu-ray Disc combo pack, with a release date to be announced at a later date. Media Blasters previously released the film on DVD in 2003.

    Black Jack The Movie debuted in 1996. Discotek will offer the anime on a DVD/Blu-ray Disc combo pack, with a release date to be announced at a later date. Manga Entertainment previously released the film on DVD in 2001.

    The 26-episode Star Fleet television puppet series aired from 1980 to 1981. Go Nagai created the series' original concept. Discotek will offer the series on DVD with the English dub produced for the United Kingdom sometime between late 2016 to early 2017.

    The 13-episode True Tears television anime series premiered in 2008. P.A. Works animated the series as its first production as the main animation studio for an anime production. Discotek will offer the complete series on DVD in August.Bandai Visual USA previously released the series in 2008.
