Digimon tri. Anime's Human Cast, Promo, Broadcast Details Unveiling on May 6

The official website for the Digimon Adventure tri. anime updated on Tuesday with a new key visual (seen above), and also announced that the voice cast for the Chosen Children (Digi-Destined), broadcast details, and promotional video for the series will be unveiled on May 6 at 10:45 p.m. JST. The announcement will be made after a continuous stream of all of the originalDigimon Adventure anime's episodes on website Niconico, which will begin on May 4.

The returning cast for the digital monsters was announced last month. The anime was originallyscheduled to premiere this spring.

 

Good lord finally. Any news for why the delay? Also I guess they still haven't announced an actual release date yet?

Betting that they will bring back the original VAs like how they did with the Digimon VAs.

 

I just hope that doesn't backfire. Bringing back old VA doesn't always work especially when there is a decade or more gap between seasons.

 

Considering this is Toei it will backfire, I mean look at Sailor Moon Crystal.

Lets see if the original aired in 1999, the average age for them would probably be early to late 20's, it's now 2015, that means they'll be averaging late 40's to early 50's.

Yeah, if they were smart they'd just bring new ones in.

 

I guess it depends on how well they can fake a teenage voice. Some people have really impressive range and if they've been doing it for this long they might be able to do it. I'm not all that hopeful but it could happen so don't count them completely out yet.

 

I'm not counting them out as it is a possible outcome. If Toei were smart about this they would bring in fresh blood, preferably an All-Star Cast. Because by that age Seiyuu are usually casted as mothers and fathers, by 60 it's usually the elderly.

Actually regarding Sailor Moon... in the remake only Kotono Mitsushi retained her role as Usagi. This is because some of the Seiyuu from the anime have actually died or are too old to do teenage voices anymore (Aya Hisakawa for example). But this backfired as Mitsushi is quite old herself, her voice now only fits older women and Misato, so her voice for Usagi wasn't exactly right and many people dropped the show cause of it. In my opinion they should've recasted her too considering they recasted the entire cast.

Believe it or not, many people are actually quite excited for this. This was unexpected to be honest, I mean a Digimon Sequel, who could've seen that coming? Also regarding it getting it dubbed, trust me, it will be dubbed, most likely by whatever 4Kids go by now.

 

If they do get a new cast, and someone I like is in it. I shall marathon the entire first season.

 

4kids isn't around anymore and even then they didn't own the rights to the dub, Saban Brands did. TBH I think the chances of this getting dubbed are kind of slim. I'm not sure if Disney still owns the rights to it or not (they got the rights to it when they bought Fox Family). Maybe Saban bought it back? Last I knew Nickelodeon was airing re-runs on one of they're channels.

 

I always need an excuse to watch something. I watch SoL cause it's cute girls.

4Kids is still around, they just go under a different name now.

Looks like while they are around it doesn't seem like they really dub anime anymore.
