Sega announced on Tuesday that it is developing a smartphone version of its Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax Ignition fighting game titled Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax Ignition Mobile-ban (Mobile Version) for China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. 91Act is developing the new version for iOS and Android, and it will release the game this year.

The new smartphone version will keep the game's roster of characters.

Ecole and French Bread developed the game, which debuted in Japanese arcades in July 2015. The game shipped on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita in Japan in December 2015. The game features 16 playable characters and more than 30 support characters on release. LiSA (Fate/Zero, Sword Art Online, The irregular at magic high school) performed the game's theme song "ID."

The game features new playable characters, such as The Devil is a Part-Timer!'s Emi Yūsa/Emilia, Heavy Object's Quenser, The irregular at magic high school's Tatsuya Shiba, and A Certain Scientific Railgun'sKuroko Shirai. The game also adds new support characters, such as Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu's Kana Iriya, Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere's Tomo Asama, and Zero Kara Hajimeru Mahō no Sho's Zero. The game also adds new systems, such as the new ability to pick a Blast character, and switch between strengthened Blast types, and it re-balances existing characters.

The PS3 and PS Vita port of Sega's first Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax arcade fighting game shipped in Japan in November 2014. Sega released the game in North America and Europe in October 2015.

The first game featured 14 playable characters and 23 support characters from Kadokawa and ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Bunko light novel titles. The game was launched to celebrate the imprint's 20th anniversary. Mami Kawada performed the original game's first theme song "Belief."
