    What do you think happened to Spike? Do you think he died or was just passed out? If you think he did survive what do you think he would have done next?

    I personally believe he survived but his old self died and he was reborn having dealt with his past once and for all. I would like to think he made his way back to the Bebop.

    I think that him surviving sort of ruins the finality of the confrontation. If he just goes on to his normal happy life, then it loses some of its impact. This is one of those moments that had a vast impact, with many people saying they cried. I think that it would be cheap if he didn't die. Still sad though and completely understandable to ignore the sadness by assuming that he is alive.
