Compile Heart began streaming a promotional video for its Death end re;Quest PlayStation 4 game on Friday. The video features the game's characters and battle gameplay.

The role-playing game will ship in Japan on Thursday after a delay. The game's limited-edition "Death end BOX" features a specially designed box, a 68-page artbook, an original soundtrack CD, a bonus CD-ROM with promo videos and illustrations, and a clear visual poster set.

The game centers on protagonist Arata Mizunashi (voiced by Tatsuya Tokutake), who receives an email from the girl Shiina Ninomiya (Hisako Tōjō), who was reported as missing over a year ago. Arata finds out that Shiina had never logged out from the "World's Odyssey" virtual reality MMORPG, but the game's development had been cancelled long ago. Arata sets out to rescue the girl who is stuck in the bug-ridden game.

The game's staff includes scenario-writer Makoto Kedōin (Corpse Party), character designer Kei Nanameda, and monster designers Kia Asamiya (Silent Möbius, Corrector Yui) and Yuji Kaida (Ultraman, Godzilla). Steins;Gatecharacter designer huke will provide guest character designs. Junya Ishigaki (The Vision of Escaflowne, Macross Frontier) is credited for "summon bug" design. Gesshoku Kaigi (18if) is credited for the theme song and is also credited for sound alongside Yuki Sugiura. Ichirō Kusaka is listed as "concept adviser."
