This year's 13th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is announcing more cast and staff for the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations television anime on Monday. The issue is also unveiling a new visual and revealing that the series will premiere on TV Tokyo on April 5.

The newly revealed cast members returning from Boruto -Naruto the Movie- are:
    Kensho Ono as Shikadai Nara
    Ryoko Shiraishi as Chōchō Akimichi
    Atsushi Abe as Inojin Yamanaka
    Nana Mizuki as Hinata Uzumaki
    Saori Hayami as Himawari Uzumaki
    Showtaro Morikubo as Shikamaru Nara
    Shinji Kawada as Shino Aburame

The anime stars the following returning cast members:
    Yuko Sanpei as Boruto Uzumaki
    Kokoro Kikuchi as Sarada Uchiha
    Ryūichi Kijima as Mitsuki
    Junko Takeuchi as Naruto Uzumaki

Naruto Shippūden episode director Noriyuki Abe will serve as chief director, and Hiroyuki Yamashita is returning from Boruto -Naruto the Movie- to direct at Studio Pierrot. Ukyō Kodachi, author of the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga, is supervising the story. Makoto Uezu (Scum's Wish, My Bride is a Mermaid) is in charge of series composition. Tetsuya Nishio and Hirofumi Suzuki are returning to design the characters. Hideyuki Ueno (Ace of Diamond, NANA) is the art director, and Yasushi Nagura (The Future Diary, Wagnaria!!2) is the sound director.

    Other returning staff members include:
    Color Setting: Tomoe Imamura
    Director of Photography: Mai Masuno
    Music: Yasuharu Takanashi, -yaiba-

The upcoming television anime adaptation of Ukyō Kodachi and Mikie Ikemoto's Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga will feature an original story. Naruto and Boruto manga creator Masashi Kishimoto said in December during the Jump Festa event about the new anime, "I plan to make it even better than Naruto."

Crunchyroll began streaming a promotional video for the new anime with English subtitles on Twitter in December.

    "Boruto Promotional Video"

Kodachi and Ikemoto launched the Boruto manga in Weekly Shonen Jump on May 9, based on and as a sequel to Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto manga. Boruto's titular main character is the protagonist of the Boruto -Naruto the Movie- anime film, and the manga has so far been an adaptation of that film.

Kenji Taira will launch Boruto, a new spin-off series of Kodachi and Ikemoto's Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga series, in Shueisha's Saikyo Jump magazine on March 3. The magazine announced earlier this month that Taira's Uchiha Sasuke no Sharingan Den (Naruto: Chibi Sasuke's Sharingan Legend) manga, a spin-off series of Kishimoto's Naruto, is approaching its climax.

The Boruto manga's second compiled volume shipped in Japan on December 2, and the manga volumes have more than 1 million copies in print.

Last year's Jump Special Anime Festa event screened a Boruto-related anime in theaters across Japan on November 27 and December 4.
