Damn Fear just had to go up against the terrorist round 1. Well I'm still going to defend her. Uryuu certainly does kill a lot of people and has quite a bit of fun while doing it. But she calms down a lot later in the series and Fear has a bit more insanity with her blood lust as you can see in this vid (Which I have posted in the nomination thread)


Also I'll give a little background info on her. Fear is essentially a living torture device. The way things work in this anime is objects that absorb enough fear and such turn into cursed objects who have a mind and will of their own as well as a human form. Fear was apparently a torture device with all sorts of gadgets made purely to kill people as slowly and painfully as possible. As a cursed item her dark side wants nothing more than to hear more screams like she did long ago when she was actively used.

So tough choice but I'm going with the living torture device

Lets talk about Nanami shall we?



This adorable little girl is actually quite insane.
She is the older sister to the MC Shichika and is usually depicted as weak and gentle.

But oh man looks can be deceiving, as can be seen with Nanami.
She is is downright terrifying to face during a fight.
She displays a critical lack in basic human understandings much like Shichika did early on in the series.
However Nanami's disregard for basic human values is even more severe than Shichika's possibly due to her father trying to kill her.
She also flashes very creepy and dark smiles on occasion, hinting to a bloodthirsty nature that lies beneath her fragile exterior.
As the season progress her inner murderer gains more sway and she becomes noticeably insane and even fatalistic, in part due to the increasing suffering her body is undergoing.

Before killing Kamakiri, she tells him that she made Shichika stop biting his nails by removing them from his body.

It truly is hard to explain Nanami without spoilers, she does die in the end but it really doesn't show much, the torture scene does though.

 

Well Maddy convinced me plus besides that Light's desire was to be god. For him killing was more a means to an end meaning he lacked true blood lust. In fact at first he didn't even like killing but justified his own actions and while he did seem to enjoy it a bit more as the series went on it was always just a means to an end for him.

It's true he does kill a lot of people but it's still just a mere stepping stone to him. Just a needed part of the plan. Nanami however as mentioned not only kills in the most painful way possible when she doesn't even have to she even goes out of her way to torture and inflict extra suffering just because she wants to. It's not part of a master plan or a goal she just wanted to torture the guy even though she knew it wouldn't do any good. Heck she wanted it to not do any good so that she could keep torturing him until the end.

Light wouldn't do that. He'd kill his opponent and move on because he has more important things to do. Near the series end he did take a bit more pleasure in killing but it was still more a means to an end for him.
