This year's 33rd issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is revealing on Saturday that the television anime adaptation of Yūki Tabata's Black Clover manga will premiere in October on TV Tokyo. The magazine is also revealing that newcomer Gakuto Kajiwara (Eromanga Sensei background character) will voice Asta, and Nobunaga Shimazaki (World Trigger's Hyuse, Free!'s Haruka Nanase, My Love Story!!'s Makoto Sunakawa) will voice Yuno.

Weekly Shonen Jump will reveal the character design and voice actorfor Yami in the 34th issue on July 24.

28-year-old anime director Tatsuya Yoshihara (Monster Musume, Yatterman Night, Muromi-san, Long Riders!) is directing the anime at Studio Pierrot. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Is the order a rabbit?, Tantei Opera Milky Holmes, Yatterman Night) is handling the series composition. Itsuko Takeda (Ristorante Paradiso, Level E, Blue Drop) is the character designer and Kumiko Tokunaga (2nd season of Kingdom) is the sub-character designer. Kosei Takahashi (key animation for Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, Monster Hunter Stories RIDE ON) is the prop designer, Aiko Shinohara (Fairy Tail, The Heroic Legend of Arslan) is handling the color design, and Minako Seki (The Silver Guardian, both seasons of Kingdom) is composing the music.

The show's staff will reveal more information at the upcoming "Jump Victory Carnival 2017" event, which takes place in Tokyo on July 22 and in Osaka on July 29.

Tabata began the series in Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2015. Viz Media publishes the manga in North America digitally in its Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, and also in print. The manga inspired an event anime that screened in Japan in November and December. The event anime then shipped on DVD with the manga's 11th volume on May 2.
