Batman Ninja Anime's New Trailer Reveals Japanese Cast, Theatrical Release

Kouichi Yamadera, Wataru Takagi, Ai Kakuma, Rie Kugimiya play classic DC characters
The Batman Ninja production unveiling event at Tokyo Comic Con revealed on Friday the film's cast and theatrical release in Japan. The event also unveiled a Japanese trailer and a new visual from Warner Bros. Japan and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment:




The Japanese cast features:

• Kouichi Yamadera as Batman
• Wataru Takagi as Joker
• Ai Kakuma as Catwoman
• Rie Kugimiya as Harley Quinn

Kamikaze Douga CEO and founder Junpei Mizusaki, character designer Takashi Okazaki, and writer Kazuki Nakashima were part of a panel at the New York Comic Con event in October that introduced the project and unveiled a trailer. The three staff members also appeared at the Tokyo Comic Con event.


Mizusaki, the producer of the opening animation sequences for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, is the film's director. Nakashima, who was in charge of the series scripts for Gurren Lagann and Kill la Kill, is the screenwriter. Okazaki, the creator of the Afro Samurai manga, is the character designer for the film. The project also involves English-language screenwriters Leo Chu and Eric Garcia — the executive producers for the Afro Samurai series and Afro Samurai: Resurrection film — who also joined the New York Tokyo Comic Con panel.

Kamikaze Douga is working on the project, and Yuugo Kanno (Psycho-Pass, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable, Ajin) is composing the music. The anime's website stated the project is three years in the making.
