Aniplex of America announced at the Akiba Fest event in Los Angeles on Saturday that it will release an import Blu-ray Disc of the Collector's Edition of the Persona 5 the Animation -The Day Breakers- anime special on February 14, the same day the Persona 5 game ships in the Americas. Aniplex of America is also streaming a trailer for the anime. The release will have Japanese audio with English subtitles, and will also feature a drama CD on a bonus disc, a special programming video with interviews with creators and voice actors that will have English subtitles, and package art by original character designer Shigenori Soejima. The release retails for US$49.98 with a store price of US$39.98. Pre-orders for the release start on Monday on Aniplex of America's official website for the anime. While the Persona 5 game features anime sequences by Production I.G, the special features animation by A-1 Pictures. Takaharu Ozaki(director of photography on Occult Academy, Welcome to THE SPACE SHOW) directed the special. Shinichi Inotsume (Yona of the Dawn,Gangsta.) wrote the script and Toshiyuki Yahagi (Joker Game) and Keita Matsumoto (Bungaku Shōjo) adapted the character designs for animation. The special aired in Japan on September 3, and Crunchyroll is streaming the special in various countries. The Persona 5 game shipped for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on September 15 in Japan, and will ship on February 14, 2017 in the Americas. Atlus will offer the American release in a "Take Your Heart" Premium Edition that includes a soundtrack CD, a Morgana plush, a hardcover art book, a steelbook, and a school bag. The game will also be available in a SteelBook Edition.
