A megaphone that can change your voice into an anime character's may seem like a novelty, but Animegaphone's creators make a good case for its possible practical uses. The English-subtitled video below explains the concept:

In crowded situations, the voice of an anime character (or other attention-grabbing person) may help large masses of people pay attention and listen to instructions better than the voice of a generic security staff member. Animegaphone uses real-time voice-changing AI technology to change users' voices. Crimson Technology's "R.C. Voice" (ReaChan Voice) technology could let the megaphone's users become a singer at a concert venue or a company president at a large meeting.

For demonstration purposes, voice actors Hiroaki Hirata (One Piece's Sanji, Space Brothers' Mutta) and Kotori Koiwai (Non Non Biyori's Renge, Aikatsu!'s Nono) lent their voices to the project. Animegaphone will debut with Hirata and Koiwai's voices at the Wonder Festival 2018 Winter event, which will be held at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba on February 18.

Animegaphone's makers have not confirmed whether they plan to actually release the device for purchase.
