Alexander Skarsgard is king of the jungle in the Legend Of Tarzan teaser trailer
By now, you will probably have seen Alexander Skarsgard’s abtastic take on Tarzan in the pictures that arrived online. If you were hoping for your chance to see him in action along with Margot Robbie and the rest of the cast via the trailer we knew was coming… Here is the first promo for The Legend Of Tarzan.

This version finds the king of the jungle putting his vine-swinging days behind him to settle down in Victorian London with wife Jane (Robbie). But after a decade of life as a proper English gentleman, he’s summoned back to the Congo where he grew up (a process we see in flashbacks) ostensibly to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament. Unknowingly, he and his wife are also pawns of a deadly plan for revenge on the part of Belgian Captain Leon Rom (Christoph Waltz, pulling bad guy duty again)… Who also gets to use a version of the character’s famous “me Tarzan, you Jane line” because of course he does.

The initial glimpse shows that director David Yates is going for rip-roaring adventure and lots of ape actions via a CG troop of simian types who look like they could be of some help – if they can stop punching our hero.

With Samuel L. Jackson, John Hurt, Simon Russell Beale (who, unless we miss our guess, has voice-over duty for the trailer), Djimon Hounsou and Casper Crump in the cast, The Legend Of Tarzan is out on July 8.
