4th Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki OVA's Additional Cast, Staff Revealed

The official website of Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki Dai-4-Ki, the fourth OAV in the Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki OVA series, revealed the anime's additional cast, staff, and opening theme song on Wednesday. The website also revealed a new key visual and character visuals.

The cast includes:
Masami Kikuchi as Tenchi Masaki

Ai Orikasa as Ryoko

Haruhi Nanao as Aeka Masaki Jurai

Chisa Yokoyama as Sasami Masaki Jurai

Michie Tomizawa as Mihoshi Kuramitsui

Yūko Kobayashi as Washu Hakubi

Etsuko Kozakura as Ryo-Ohki

Naomi Shindoh as Noike Kamiki Jurai

The rest of the cast includes:
Ken Uo as Katsuhito Masaki
Katsuyuki Konishi as Nobuyuki Masaki
Rio Natsuki as Rea Masaki
Yuko Nagashima as Minaho Masaki

Most of the cast members are returning from previous Tenchi Muyo! anime. Tomizawa is playing Mihoshi in place of Yuko Mizutani, who passed away in May, and Uo and Konishi are replacing Takeshi Aono, who passed awayin 2012. Nanao first played Aeka in 2014's Ai: Tenchi Muyo!.

Masaki Kajishima is credited with the original concept, character design, and as general director. Hidetoshi Takahashi (Sword Art Online II, Your Lie in April episode director) is directing the anime at AIC and C2C. Hideki Shirane (Tenchi Muyo! War on Geminar, Tenchi Muyo GXP) returns to supervise and pen the series' scripts. Takeshi Oda (Yurumates3Dei, Onee-chan ga Kita) is adapting the character designs for animation. Yasunori Honda is the director of sound.

Tsutomu Ikeda (Kan Colle, Star Blazers 2199, The Asterisk War) is in charge of backgrounds. Shigeru Saisho(Onee-chan ga Kita) is credited for color design, while Yoshito Kuwa (NieA_7, Angel Heart, The IDOLM@STER) is director of photography. Ryo Sakai (Glass Maiden, Kino's Journey, Ceres, Celestial Legend) and Crunch All Stars are composing the music.

Serena Kozuki will perform both the opening theme song "Tenchi Muyo!" and the ending theme song "Shake the DiCE." The ending theme song's single CD shipped on June 28.

The OVA's first Blu-ray Disc volume is slated for November 30.

The new OVA will be the first entry in the OVA series in 11 years since last episode of the third OAV debuted in 2005. The Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki Dai-2-Ki (Second Season)OVA launched in 1994, and the Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki Dai-3-Ki (Third Season) OVAlaunched in 2003. They are both sequels to the 1993 Tenchi Muyo! Omatsuri Zenjitsu no Yoru! (Tenchi Muyo! The Night Before The Carnival) OVA, which is itself a sequel to the original 1992 Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki OVA. Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki Dai-3-Ki also inspired the spinoff Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki Dai-3-Ki Plus 1 (Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki: Final Confrontations) in 2005.

Geneon Entertainment and later FUNimation Entertainment released Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki, Tenchi Muyo! The Night Before The Carnival, and Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki Dai-2-Ki on home video. Funimation also released Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki Dai-3-Ki and Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki: Final Confrontations.​
