The scenes right after the explosion were all very extreme for me. I barely knew anything of this event due to lack of teaching material about it in Holland. Our schools focus on Hitler and the attacks on Holland (Rotterdam bombing) but there's barely anything on this.

A little about Pearl Harbor, but i can't remember any lesson about the Hiroshima atom bomb. I didn't even know there was a 2nd atom bomb in Nagasaki untill i watched this movie. I have searched alot of information about it now though, mainly to see how accurate this movie really was.

That's also how i found out about the author's own experience. It's said he had given it a place in the years after the bomb, but 20 years afterwards his mother passed away and was cremated, watching that, all the horror came back to him and he sort of lost it. He started writing the things he saw down and ended up making books and eventually a manga about it.

I'm most likely gonna watch the 2nd movie this saturday with TMC, but if someone doesn't want to watch a sub i'll watch it next week. They say the 2nd movie focusses on the aftermath of the bomb, with a little side story in it.
