Life has been getting the best of me, and since other known members have disappeared then no one took the mantle of the leader....

@Sporadic I officially announce my retirement as the group leader of the Anime Cafe, its been a blast and I had fun, but life is a tough one especially with work, you can take leadership until you find a good leader

Hey I think there were at least 3 more posts, and I have made / in progress of making an AMV tutorial to engage more people, idk AMV makers are procrastinators and at the end of the day most activities go to the amv org site where its all dedicated to AMV, at the moment as much as I would like club activity, at current I think or just think that ill do site related AMVs for a bit till activity someday builds up, At least that's something ^^

I'd have to say no. While I did enjoy making my own club and doing activities it's just been an uphill battle from the start that only got worse and with IRL stuff always causing me to loose track of this forum anyway I obviously can't keep a club going. I hate to let it go now but I think it's time to stop pretending I can keep that thing going.

It would be a shame to kill off the club though so would anyone else like to take it over?

Maybe it would be a prudent decision before we demolish clubs and what not to engage our social media audience on Facebook etc, as these clubs that have been going on for a while, for them to just go, it takes away part of the sit the community. I suggest that it would be a suggestive move to advertise these clubs on social media. Ill even boost the post to get out reach especially since itl be club related specific.

For a year I advertised the clubs on FB, but because there was no activities in the club, those from the media site that did show interest, lost interest quickly. These clubs have been slowly dying for a while. It's not really something that happened over night, just over a period of time (for some clubs that is ). The clubs need to have activity in order for them to stay active and to in order for people to show any interests. I did my part in advertising for a while, but then I starting getting PM's from people, complaining that no one else would respond and some asked where the club owners were that the clubs were so dead. The social media will only play a small part in keeping the clubs, but it is the club owners and what they are willing to do to keep the club going, that will affect the activeness. We cant advertise a club that no one wants to keep going, or expect random members to post and not know what to do since they are new.
Social media can only do so much, but when no one else wants to do what needs to be done, sadly there isn't much we can do to save the clubs. Like I said, I have tried, but the club owners end, just kinda left them to die in some of the clubs cases. If the owners want to do events and want me to advertise them, I have no problem helping. I just can only do so much on the social end

Yea it is sadly true, the clubs use to be somewhat active back in the ye old days of .net but yea they seem to be dying. It is a shame, though that is a good idea of club owners advertising events or club activities, thanks for your help with the AMV editor club shout out to FB, ive had some PMs and I hope well see some good Christmas AMVs this year. But i think all club owners before they die should announce an event and get some social media attention , that may sway some people, or perhaps groups should instead have just 1 main leader have at least 2 so people can at least response to a users query's and questions. If anything maybe clubs that are somewhat related, could be merged together in the time being to at least give extra time for a more conventional strategy to get them going. In addition to that,o our Fb is growing, in time, we may get higher responses , yea we may get reach but it dosnt count if there is no engagement :/ Well time will tel. I guess this certainly is the last thread / chance for owners to do more stuff and have the motivation to do it.

I at least suggest alternate routes, for example with jdo.com I can be specific with keywords to attract people, however with the anime cafe club, its buried in a forum, in a sections in threads. Because of this we cant precisely give it any keyword association due to the fact the forum itself is spread thin with other keywords describing there clubs ( diminish significant values) and the forum itself meaning there is no significant data set for users who would only like to literally discuss anime in the anime cafe club.

For example i Was thinking of having a boiler plate site that links to the AMV editors club ( only for the beginning , see how it goes , its a win win and cost nothing ) amv-editors.net this gives me the chance to specifically add associated key and words to the site to explicitly attract users who only want or are interested in amv creation / discussion and so forth. I also have other free methods, I do have some free Google advertising that can be shown on search engines.

IN conclusion I do suggest since we are still growing we ( I ) can roll out some specific sites to target specific groups, it will give a much higher keyword significance and relevant value which will not only reach users but actually have a large engagement ratio, because of how the keywords target said individuals. I suggest we at least wait till new year around a month before purging any related club. ofc as stated , we still expanding our social media reach since we still have little but improvements have been noticed

    IE a brief example

It would also help to advertise events and certain club activities on other sites. Remember how you found this site @sayWut. Wasn't it because JustDubs was having an AMV contest and noey advertised it on another site? Sometimes various anime forums are fine with you advertising events on their site. And offering a prize will definitely get more people coming in to check it out.

I agree, there are plenty of sites we can reach out to, can post that in the new thread section. And yea I came here from the AMV org site as I asked where any AMV contests were and someone directed me to the .net site at the time, so itl be good to post amv events there. In fact ill get on to posting the event on that site now.

Did I say Tuesday? I meant Thursday.

I maintain that the idea behind the Tabletop Guild is a sound one. We have had a few instances of members creating threads and trying to get tabletop games started, both within the club and without, and there has been a decent amount of interest. The problem is, simply, the logistics. Tabletop games, by in large, require multiple people to play and that means trying to sync up schedules, which can be difficult.

Up to now, I've tried to manage the club on my own and simply have not had the time to do so. I had originally planned to have Znelson give me a hand with the club, as we know each other in real life. That hasn't really worked out, however, as he hasn't proven to be reliably available to assist in club activities or in planning said activities.

With that said, here is the plan for the future of the club:

    1) Find 1-2 new mods whom can assist me with running monthly events/games as well as posting content to the club forum. On my own, I simply do not have time to plan club content on a regular basis. Putting together tabletop games requires quite a bit of planning and working with club members/players. With multiple mods/club leaders working on the club and organizing activities, we can more reliably schedule games and events as well as maintain club activity and interest as we will be able to share the work load and rotate leading monthly games.

    2) Aim to run at least one short tabletop campaign per month.

    3) Create and maintain threads in the club forum which provide opportunities for discussion on the topic of tabletop gaming as well as provide resources, such as online rule sets and assets, for creating tabletop games.

I'll likely begin searching for new mods within the month. If anyone reading this is interested, especially if you have GM experience, send me a DM.

Feel free to ask my Rpers. I'm sure one or maybe more would help with this. We still have a few members in the RP club that have been around since JD shut down. A few have done tabletop that I know of
