The first March comes in like a lion television anime series premiered on NHK in Japan in October and ran for two consecutive cours or half a year before ending on Saturday. The anime premiered for North American audiences on Crunchyroll and Daisuki in October. Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs, and Daisuki is streaming the episodes one week later.

Akiyuki Simbo (Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Bakemonogatari) directed the anime at SHAFT. Nobuhiro Sugiyama (ef: a tale of memories, Arakawa Under the Bridge, Nisekoi - False Love) designed the characters for animation. Seiki Tamura (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, K-ON!, Mr. Osomatsu) was credited for art direction, while Yasuhiro Nakura (Nekomonogatari (Black), Monogatari Series Second Season, Hanamonogatari key animation) was credited for art setting. Yukari Hashimoto (Toradora!, Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun, Mr. Osomatsu) composed the music, while Toshiki Kameyama (Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei, Nisekoi - False Love, Kan Colle) was the sound director. NHK listed the anime with 22 episodes.

Umino started the manga series in Hakusensha's Young Animal magazine in 2007, and Hakusensha shipped the 12th compiled volume in September. The series has won several awards including the Manga Taisho award and Kodansha Manga award in 2011. The manga also won the 18th Tezuka Osamu Prizes' Top Award in March 2014.

The manga is inspiring two live-action films starring Ryunosuke Kamiki in the lead role, and Keishi Ōtomo directing. The films are opening in Japan on March 18 and April.

@Negi-Springfield well here we go, S2 announcement thread posted on here. Thought you'd like to share your thoughts here with everyone as well. Although by everyone I mean myself since I'm honestly not too sure who else is watching this show here. But interesting to see that S1 will be rebroadcast. That makes sense for why it will start in October since it will begin not long after it finishes once more.
I want more Bump of Chicken though to perform the themes. They were the better themes after all. They had also previously released a collaboration music video with this series so it made sense when both the op and ed was done by them. I was always kind of sad that they changed the themes.

Do want more family stuffs from the next season though.

I really enjoyed this show, I went it with no expectations and was swept away.

The Shogi part was really interesting (to me)!

I was disappointed that the last episode neither had no Kawamoto or Kyouko, they really tied the show together.

The shogi club is not very interesting right now, but I can only assume it'll pick up.

Is it bad that I'm rooting for Rei and Kyouko?
