    "It doesn't matter how many relationships we seem to have. We're all alone."
    -Mei Misaki

    Okay, yes. I realize that no one requested this. I also realize that it's been out for some time now. However, the biggest reasons I'm actually giving this a review is because of the fact that I have just finished reading the light novel by Yukito Ayatsuji and that it's half past 3AM and I have nothing better to do. With that being said, it's Time for Another review!....:D

    I promise not to make any more puns.

    =============================================================

    Story:

    The story of Another is probably one of it's biggest driving factors. Not just because I'm a big fan of horror, but because it seems like towards the end there aren't really any gigantic dangling plot threads that leaves everyone thinking "what in the hell just happened there"? It has a complete mystery horror vibe to it that I think anyone who's a fan of the genre and has seen similar series (Higurashi and Shiki to name a couple) will enjoy. However, if you're not a fan of the horror genre and can't handle more blood and death than a blood bank and a mortuary respectively, I suggest you look somewhere else for entertainment.

    Characters:

    Alright. Now this is where I sort of have to talk about the elephant in the room. In my opinion, the characters of Another don't really seem very engaging. Like, at all. I've even read the light novel and I was hoping for the "the original work is better than the anime yadda yadda yadda", but it didn't really happen. The characters were pretty much static and flat. I understand that it's supposed to be a mystery-esque anime, but that doesn't mean that every single character should have acted like they're hiding a dead body at home.

    Audio:

    I suppose I'll be a nice guy and talk about the good points first. The music for Another is decent and fitting at most times, but it doesn't really jump out at me and leave a lasting impression on me. It doesn't even have an extremely memorable track from the show aside from the opening performed by ALI PROJECT.

    As for the voice acting, I guess I could say that the two main leads Greg Ayres (Koichi) and Monica Rial (Mei) do their jobs without any issues. I would even go as far as to say that they were very fitting in their roles. But with their characters being about as bland as a slice of white bread with absolutely nothing in the middle of a completely grey room it really doesn't do them justice.

    Art:

    Now the art for Another is pretty fitting as well. The town seems very rustic and spooky, bits and parts of the school are decrepit and dilapidated, and the blood and gore add a great touch to the horror-type genre. If anything, this is probably the only section of this review that I can't really think of anything to criticize it over.

    Verdict:

    Frankly, if you're looking for an anime with a good story, I would recommend it. But in all honesty, you may be deterred by the lack of character development, how the characters are flatter than a pancake in terms of personality, and how there isn't much of mention in terms of music. But if you're looking for something to send a chill up your spine or maybe to help you stay awake for the rest of the night, I actually recommend it.

    If you'd like me to review a show, go ahead and comment down below and I'll see what I can do so long as it's not an extremely bulky series (Naruto, Bleach, Fairy Tail, One Piece, etc.) ^_^
