On MuckUp day, one person in my year dressed up as him. At the end of the day I was like "You seem to be having trouble getting recognised. Would you like some help with that?" to which she was like "THANK YOU!"

Wait, you had a muckup day? Was this in highschool or uni? I remember being told that it was a largely removed concept because it was taken too far too many times.
Now that is an interesting costume idea. I wouldn't exactly know what they'd do for that.

A tradition in Aus where the year 12s (the last year level) dress up in costumes and play pranks or do crazy shit.

High school. While we didn't have a proper MuckUp day because the teachers didn't want some tragedy happening, the teachers did allow us a costume day because we were generally a well-behaved year level (and probably wanted to give us something to avoid us doing stupid shit anyway). Do you remember that group cosplay pic from ages ago, "Cheez TV live"? I was Ash, others were Goku, the Sailor Scouts, a TMNT.

Beef is a shitty meat. Don't at me.

Pretty sure this is the reason it is basically banned. Although the teachers themselves have some fun stories from their own muckup days.
See we got a new principal and he even stopped those sorts of days for fundraising purposes. No fun for my grade 12.
I vaguely remember that. I assumed it was from a con.

    Wow, what a dick.

Nah, my first con was in 2014, whereas that was 2012.

I hated his guts the moment I saw him. I missed his introduction to the school at an assembly since I was out sick. So he was just some sleazy older guy standing at the side of a different event. He drove a lousy kombi van and went off school grounds to smoke regularly. Such a role model.

What was your first con? I don't remember when mine was but I went to the general nerd convention Supanova. Since it wasn't just an anime one I was pretty bored and didn't enjoy it all that much. Needless to say I haven't been back to that one since.

Wow. Aren't there supposed to be qualifications to be a principal?...

Also Supanova. I enjoyed it a lot because it was such a new experience; buying merch, seeing cool cosplayers, buying merch.
On that note, I saw drama about Sydney Supa just earlier tonight. Something about a stall selling swatstikas and other controversial shit, and also filming and harassing passers-by.
Have I mentioned how this year's Supanova was the worst I've been to? All stuck in the one building 'cause the other building they usually use for the Artist Alley was being used for covid testing, but not only that, there was practically no good stalls there. Like, only one of the recurring stores was there and the rest were split between shit merch, possibly-fake merch, ugly merch, and cringy woke merch (flags, flags on tshirts, etc). And the same for the artists; three quarters was either objectively ugly or just money-grabs with woke pieces (flag pins, stickers, badly-drawn character holding flag). It wasn't until I had passed through all the stores and legit three quarters of the artists, thereby finding the good artists with new pieces, that the thought taking up the majority of my feelings "Coming here was a waste" stopped hanging around. /rant

My first con was accidental. I was just buying some things then I saw some people wearing some weeb shit so I stayed for a while, hugged some cute cosplayers then head home.

Wait, how did you get in if was accidental? Was there no entry fee?

Also, how do you read your signature? "She is only a ship mate"? "She ship"?

I didn't know it still occurred. But that sounds fun. I wonder what the occasion was. You think organisers would be on top of this sort of behaviour.

I kind of felt that way at the last con I went to. It just wasn't the same not having guests to look forward to. I imagine it'd be different if I went for cosplay or art reasons. I don't exactly enjoy the artist alley at conventions either so it doesn't help. Considering all the amazing art that Japanese artists post online, seeing what is being sold as merch for booths is very disappointing.

You'd think that, but it apparently took them until late Sunday to boot them despite it happening the entire event or some shit.

Yeah, fair. I'm constantly on the hunt for pretty posters. And recently I started supporting my fave artist via Patreon, Sciamano. His style is so pretty and unlike other realistic-style artists he actually does good anatomy.
