Boruto Anime Casts Kazuya Nakai As Urashiki Ōtsutsuki

    Masashi Kishimoto provides design for new character premiering in spring arc
    [​IMG]This year's 15th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed on Monday that Kazuya Nakai (One Piece's Zoro, Sengoku Basara's Date Masamune) will voice Urashiki Ōtsutsuki, a new antagonist in the upcoming story arc for the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations television anime series.

    The new arc will debut this spring and center on the Chūnin Exam story that was told during the Boruto -Naruto the Movie- film.

    A stage presentation at the Jump Festa 2018 event in December revealed a new visual (pictured right) that debuted Urashiki (upper left corner in image). Original Naruto manga creator Masashi Kishimoto designed the new character.

    The Boruto: Naruto Next Generations television anime series premiered in Japan on TV Tokyo in April 2017. Viz Media is simulcasting the series on Hulu as it airs in Japan, with new episodes every Wednesday. Crunchyroll is also streaming the anime.

    I really don't know how I feel about this. @Batosai Zoro's VA is coming to Boruto but will be playing a bad guy. Hmm I really don't know. I'm happy I'll get to hear him some more since I like the voice actor, but I haven't really seen him portray a bad guy before.
    Although I guess his role in Mardock Scramble was a horrible person so maybe.

    Who cares, I'll just jump on this as good news.

    They arent villains but both Zoro and Hijikata have a bad guy feeling about them. He might be really good at it.

    It isn't that they necessarily have a bad guy vibe, I think it is more because of how bad arse the character is. Nakai's voice suits these sorts of roles really well. So much so that when I hear him cast as anything else I wonder why.
    If the bad guy in the next arc is at least somewhat bad arse then it should be some fun listening to him again.

    You worded that pretty well. That was exactly what i meant to say. I could have seen an arc at the start of Gintama with Hijikata as villain though.
