So today North Korea fired a ballistic missile into the Sea of Japan. Amidst growing tensions between them and the world.

We know if North Korea is left unchecked they will soon have the capacity to wipe out most of the world.

We know the US and China have said they will take swift military action if they decide to do nuclear tests.

So I ask, should we bomb the shit out of North Korea? Knowing that they are a threat to international peace?

My answer is yes and then let South Korea take it's rightful clay back. It'd be for the best.

    Feel free to discuss.

I'm for that, but we should heavily invest in researching and expedite shielding technology before obliterating North Korea (more specifically, the entire regime including the military). Given the chance, North Korea will bombard South Korea with artillery strikes if we do anything. We need to take steps to prevent them from taking it out on South Korea in the event it escalates to the world spanking the problem child of Asia.

Pretty much inevitable to be honest. The main thing would be to reduce the amount of casualties in those cities.

A hostage case is a tricky one.
So, how do you handle a hostage that is being threatened?

You remove the hostage from the situation altogether. (Not that it is easy, or even possible.)
If South Korea were to evacuate all of it's highly populated areas for a day or two, I would hope that would be enough time for the bombardment artillery to be taken out in N.Korea and reduce some of the stress on S.Korea.

I am seriously getting tired of hearing about some chubby kid with a power craze wanting to nuke everyone.

Completely agree with your point, for decades especially the last 10 years, North Korea has been getting more aggressive, with weapon testing, especially nuclear testing.

We do not know much about them ( maybe our governments ) But as people we know very little, all we know is that they are a brainwashed dictator shipped country.

In my opinion based on there continuing aggression , We must take action, as soon as possible. IE South and north Korea are technically at war, we must free the north brainwashed north Koreans and reestablish a united Korea. I mean North Korean people are starving, then we have dictator who wants to show of there " tests " even though a lot of them fail, as north korma is technologically behind the rest of us.

However in this sad word we leave things till its to late, history shows it.

Funnily enough this video apart from the end had predicted King Jun Uns death, scary.

They can't cyberattack considering ol' Kimmy is the only person with a computer in North Korea. Unless he's secretly shitposting on Trump's Twitter rest assured they aren't cyberattacking us.

War might be inevitable. South Korea is a valuable trade ally, in a straight up fight they would be obliterated without help.
I don't think it will be wrong to intervene in that case, guess that doesn't make me an isolationist. Our failure to assist the South won't be forgotten by other allies like Japan. They may even turn to China for help.
These are all valuable trade allies.

So this might sound calculating but intervention is needed on the first step. But how? Can it be done without war?
There's one last ditch effort that I think is worth pursuing, I think the Trump administration is going to use it. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said it best, strategic patience is over. Two keys here, Trump is completely unpredictable and China values stability of their region above all else.

This might sound strange but I think the best option IS to escalate tensions. China just has to play ball and understand what's going on here.
I think China is finally tired of the North's continued belligerence over the rest of their sphere of influence. China's response has been to cut some coal deals they had, a bigger deal then you might think since NK is very reliant on coal. Also so is China so that's a nice potential trade nugget for the U.S.

China's hope is that something like that would appease the west and make them back off from tough talk. We can't stop there though, I suspect the U.S strategy is to deliberately maneuver China as the "negotiating leader". Put them in a position where they play the peacekeeper. Make it clear that America will not idly standby as the north threatens America's partners in South Korea and Japan.

China is adverse to foreign influence in their sphere of influence. That's the reason the Korean war wasn't able to resolve properly. They hate it when foreigners get involved in their sphere. However they understand that Japan and South Korea are important partners to America.
    How important?
That's where you have to make it clear that these missile tests will not be tolerated. Shooting down their missles, sending in more aircraft carriers, and generally increasing the rhetoric is nerve wrecking I admit. It is however part of a strategy. Thankfully, countries like Japan figured out the memo and is beefing up it's own defense forces. This is a good thing because it forces China to reevaluate the state of their region. Everyone is serious now, the status quo is over. There will now be more pressure for someone to decrease tensions in the region.

The best country to do so is China. This is where it gets very tricky. China knows they have to do something but they don't want to do it under scrutiny from the Americans. They don't want to be perceived as being 'pressured' into a bad situation. They don't like the North Koreans either, a rabid but chained dog that has pissed off the neighbor one too many times.
As an authoritarian regime themselves, their image is crucial to maintain their stability. That's why Trump must put China on the forefront of negotiations, it's their region.

Make it clear that the Americans will not abandoned their allies and war is not off the table. China will have to determine if Trump is bluffing. Don't shame them into it though, the Chinese are real prickly when it comes to that kind of thing. You want to think that they have something to gain out of playing the peacekeeping role. That they "prevented American intervention" or whatnot. If it's something their ruling party can spin as positive then they'll use it. It actually helps us that China's authoritarian tendencies make them predictable, if it can make their government look good they'll use it.

That's why Trump is playing so nice with them so far, get China to exert it's influence over the north to prevent war. All the while it will look like it's China being the good guys in all of this. Kim is the lapdog here, he can't bite the hand that feeds him.
China can gain an image boost at little loss. They won't do it if it looks like they were forced into negotiations (even though they kind of were). I expect a lot of praise given by Trump to urge them to continue on their efforts.

More importantly, always remind China not through words but by action that we aren't bluffing. Keep on assisting our allies in the region to prepare for the worst. Send more aircraft carriers, shoot down more missile tests. Keep reminding China that an inevitable war might be at their south border if they don't exert their leverage on their southern neighbor. Only they, China, can put an end to it.

You just have to pet the panda, just keep on petting the panda and China will *hopefully* put the noose on North Korea all the while looking like they were the heroes in all this.

And if it all fails anyway then just remember this was a failure many years in the making. I got a good feeling though, I think China would jump at the chance to be the peacekeepers. This all hinges on whether they think the U.S is serious or not.
Lastly, if Kim really is crazy enough to shun the hand that feeds him then the rabid dog has to be put down. Waving nukes around like toys is one thing, it could be fake bravado. Turning against the only benefactor you have?

Legit crazy, probably crazy enough to use nukes.

    Is that sarcasm? ;)
I really don't know. I just find it hard to believe they would find such instability as a good thing, they won't want to deal with this crap, it will be them to pick up the pieces and they know it. Maybe--and this is a big maybe, they would find it less of a headache if they took a proactive step in trying to reign in the North Korean regime.

It really wouldn't cost them anything (hell they are practically the ones keeping that regime afloat). They just don't want to be seen as being pressured into it.
That's why that idea I floated might be in effect, America and NK rack up rhetoric, China to the 'rescue' to calm things down using real leverage against the regime.

China is in dire need of image reform, this could be an easy way to improve it. No one likes Kim, they make fun of him in China too (apparently a bunch of fat jokes, the universal language of jokes). It got to the point that Chinese state media had to censor it so Kim didn't get insulted.

The way China exerts their influence is by trade. Kim is a relic from the 1950's communists that used war to spread communism. He's obsolete, the current communists and socialists know that it's in education field where you spread that crap. I won't be surprised if Chinese intelligence is searching out one of the NK generals who is better aligned to Chinese interests.

There is no current successor in North Korea.
