I play in bi-weekly Pathfinder sessions. I took a quick read of the rules for 5th edition DnD, and it doesn't seem too abnormally different from Pathfinder. Would that constitute "knowing what you're doing?" xD

Also, you guys roll for stats on your character sheets or just throw numbers around? I'm leaning towards asking to play [assuming I can take off of work that day].

 

I'm still playing 2nd Ed. AD&D. XD

I've not played 5th Ed. but I have put about 800+ hours into D&D, so I can try to get familiar with the new rules and join in.

Also can someone help me with the character sheet? I'm use to the old 3rd edition sheets.

 

The stats are rolled for which makes it interesting. Take 4, 6 sided die (4d6) and roll them 6 times. Place them in the correct "stat area" depending on your character. For mine, my character depends on Wisdom and Constitution so out of my 6 rolls I took my top rolls which were 18,17 and placed 18 into Wisdom and 17 into Constitution. The character sheet should update your modifiers as you fill the stats in.

Yea, since this was a one-off session I didn't know whether you guys just put whatever you wanted in or actually rolled for your stats.

I was able to work earlier that day, so you can count me in.

So i have some news for you all. Looks like im going to have to post pone this till the following weekend, or when time would suit you guys best. I made previous plans a few mouths back for that date that had totally slipped my mind. So shoot me ideas and i will see what i can do. Thanks all.
